The VM knife gate valve is manufactured according to high quality standards, combining a robust design with proven technical features not found in conventional knife gate valves. Thanks to the original, integrated Wey design, it guarantees the best-possible performance and, of course, absolute zero leakage in demanding applications.

The robust metal yoke enables the optimal, simple assembly of mechanical or inductive limit switches. The yoke can be removed from one side. This makes it easier to access the mechanical parts.

A mechanically retained round cord seal creates a bubble-tight shut off on the gate edge.

A unique transverse seal, consisting of a transverse seal profile and packing compound, makes the body bubble-tight towards the atmosphere.

The transverse seal can be repacked at any time and under full pressure using the lateral packing screws.

The gate is mechanically guided over the full stroke.

In the closed end position, the gate is also mechanically supported.

With its optimized gate geometry, accumulated media is pushed out of the gate guide and flushed out into the bore by the increased flow.

Another success story in wastewater treatment.
This 6” Wey knife gate valve VM with a Rotork motor replaced a defective competitive valve at a wastewater treatment plant in Pennsylvania, USA. Thanks to the proven Wey sealing system, our valves are 100% bi-directional shut off with zero leakage.

Manual operation at 7m (24′) hight
Whenever an applications requires infrequent valve operation, manual operation is the most space-saving and cost-effective solution. Just like at this wastewater treatment plant in the U.S. where our Wey knife gate valves VM can be operated manually at a height of 24’ (7.3 m) thanks to chainwheels connected to the actuator.

System changeover to knife gate valves
These knife gate valves VM DN 4″ were recently installed at a wastewater treatment plant in Ohio, USA. The existing scum system was aging and pumps and valves needed to be replaced. Our Wey knife gate valves were selected due to their resistance to deposition and solids. Compared to the previously installed plug valves, they are also much lighter and therefore easier to handle. The system was commissioned successfully in October.
